When I was reading some posts at a forum in China, many people were talking about "another earthquake" in Xiamen, Fujian.

The reports are from Quanzhou, Xiamen, Zhangzhou .. and some are even saying that most place in South China had felt that shaking.

I am in Beijing now and did not feel anything. I just hope the "other earthquake" this time could be over asap... The people already lost a lot in Wenchuan Earthquake...

FYI: There is NO post in any mass media site currently (9:54AM in Beijing) and the people says the quake is happening in around 9:37 AM. I will update this post to follow.

I have come across an article that can help people see China more accurately. I think everyone should read it because it exposes certain facets of the communist party’s ways of censoring reality and justice. If we do not hear about this from dissidents willing to risk everything, then the CCP would effectively have repressed all knowledge of it’s crimes and would get away with it’s absolute abuse of power over China and people of the world.

The article is titled: The Last Hero of Tiananmen
by Philip P. Pan
How an aging doctor became the conscience of China.

As linked to on my blog, http://nomoreccp.wordpress.com/

Actually this story if from Philip Pans new book: OUT OF MAO’S SHADOW, The Struggle for the Soul of a New China

The book you recommended definitely provides Chinese people other new views of CCP...
But I seriously doubt its objectivity...It seems rather to be another ideological weapon. Talk about these stuff, one RFA is enough...

I think that you may have found the wrong forum for your political statements. You write like a native English speaker, so I'm going to assume you're in my position, that of an outsider looking in who cannot completely understand the nuances of the situation you are describing. While the people here may or may not agree with you, it really strikes me as inappropriate for you to sideline an update on a natural disaster for your rant about their government. Your statements here could put the authors and readers of this blog at risk of being held responsible for your viewpoint. Next time, try to find an appropriate venue for your politicizing.

Aw, do you feel that IfGoGo is becoming your personal English blog? You're good at promoting your blogs, but not managing people who are working for/with you.

I am sorry but it really takes time.

But if I stop posting, someone would say, hey, ifgogo hasn't been active for months. That's something much worse than make it just look like a "personal blog".

Anyway, I am working on a brandnew profile system and GUI look for ifgogo.

I felt it at around 9.30 am-ish but only found out later that it was an earthquake. I'm worried about the aftershocks...do you know how soon would one feel them? It's my first time feeling an earthquake.

Just read this a few moments ago!

An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale jolted east China's Fujian Province at 9:36 a.m. on Saturday, and moderate aftershocks are expected, China's seismological authorities said.

The epicenter was located along the boundary of Xiamen and Longhai cities at 24.53 degrees north and 117.93 degrees east, according to the China National Seismological Network.
