I think that you may have found the wrong forum for your political statements. You write like a native English speaker, so I'm going to assume you're in my position, that of an outsider looking in who cannot completely understand the nuances of the situation you are describing. While the people here may or may not agree with you, it really strikes me as inappropriate for you to sideline an update on a natural disaster for your rant about their government. Your statements here could put the authors and readers of this blog at risk of being held responsible for your viewpoint. Next time, try to find an appropriate venue for your politicizing.

Hi Aw - I live in eastern Xiamen.

Just now at around 8.30 pm I think we felt another tremor...have you heard of any further reports? Please drop me a line via email or blog, if you can. Thanks!

I just heard this news here....

I am used to listen to the radio for news every early morning after I get up and then when I am freshing up as well as doing something for freakfast. But I didn't hear any news on it. Maybe I missed some.

Thanks ifgogo friends!

Just read this a few moments ago!

An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale jolted east China's Fujian Province at 9:36 a.m. on Saturday, and moderate aftershocks are expected, China's seismological authorities said.

The epicenter was located along the boundary of Xiamen and Longhai cities at 24.53 degrees north and 117.93 degrees east, according to the China National Seismological Network.

The book you recommended definitely provides Chinese people other new views of CCP...
But I seriously doubt its objectivity...It seems rather to be another ideological weapon. Talk about these stuff, one RFA is enough...

I felt it at around 9.30 am-ish but only found out later that it was an earthquake. I'm worried about the aftershocks...do you know how soon would one feel them? It's my first time feeling an earthquake.
