The invisible man in China (Chinese contemporary art from Liubolin)

Here are some interesting pictures from a man named "Liu Bolin". The author was born in 1973. Here you can find more works from Bolin. I loved the package of photos so much not only because he really looks like an invisible man but also due to the metaphor behind the photos.

FYI: After China shifted from a closed state to a more opened one, there are more and more great arts from the Chinese people. If you are in Beijing and want to know more about this, I can be your guide :)

  3. Maybe it's a great body arts, but i don't like it... i think if it's your first time look at these pictures, you'll be scared.

  4. These are awesome pictures. I don't think there is anything to for the harmonious people to be afraid of. It is just self-expression!

Thanks for sharing them and the info regarding the artist! :-)

  7. Thanks for this blog, Aw!

You led me to some new kind of art. I was told by a young lady that her friends like such contemporary art very much. Whenever they went to Beijing, they would spend a lot of money to buy some as collection....

These arts you uploaded here really caused me to consider the deep-seated thinking of the author. I guess he wants to tell the people that no matter what happens, the core is the human being and it's existing!

    Right?

  8. great stuff, thanks for sharing.
I am wondering if those characters were naked or half naked could be more provocative : P

  12. Liu Bolin has been doing his Hiding in the City series since 2005. It started as a political commentary on the tensions between the Chinese government and their people and the identity an environment gives an individual and vice versa. Liu Bolin will be exhibiting at Eli Klein Fine Art in New York from June 29 - August 28, 2011. Eli Klein Fine Art represents him exclusively in North and South America.
