Sometimes, I think about this, and I am sure everyone thinks about this.

After I watched The Count of Monte Cristo and The Shawshank Redemption, I was shocked that if you have a beautiful dream and a very strong determination, the future can be so beautiful.

But after I watched The Butterfly Effect, it was rather sad. No matter how hard you try to fix, bad things still happen. The worse thing is, even the only solution is to sacrifice yourself.

The Butterfly Effect2 is really a very poor movie, but its tagline is somehow remarkable:  Can you change your past without destroying your future. - Yes, sometimes we are always thinking about changing our past, and somehow no one cares the future.

Sometimes, You may think, if you made that decision in another way, things would be very different by now. Sometimes, You may complain that if you had never joined this company, you might be much richer than you are. But it's that the truth?

The only truth, at least so far, is that you can never change the past. Even if you don't care about ruining your future, still you can never change your past. There is never a man like Evan Treborn.

But you can also change one kind of "past", that is "now". "Now" is not the past, but it's going to be the past. Actually, as for The Shawshank Redemption, The Butterfly Effect, no matter which one, is telling us to live in the present.

Never care the past and never worry about the future. Everything we get is the present. The present will be the past, and it will also be the future :)

about the , my idea is that when bad things happened , do not only try to change it or fix it.
sometimes just leave it and face ur new future may be a good one.

It remind me that "We can not change the environment, but we can choose our attitude."
So maybe I can say "We can not change the past, but we can choosre the present."

Butterfly Effect has 4 endings!

Past and future don't exist in the physics level, and present exist.

In fact, you can use < em /> to mark book names.

Faint... There's a bug. I just typed in <em /> and then...

Okay now. I just encoded your tag. I don't know why but it seems due to the system. Anyway, it's not very bad bug.

Good writing!

Present is the best present we can get, so enjoy life at present!

p.s. why can't I add pics in comment? Would that be more interesting?
only suggestion to make it better:)

I don't think images in comments is a good idea. For it's hard to control it (especially the size). The image may mess up this layout. Anyway, thanks very much for your reply, it's really a creative one. :)

aw, so good a post!

I was surprised that you young people could think about such topic in early life while I did it when i was in my 50s, lol..........

People often said there is only 3 days in a life, which is Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. I do think that Today is the key what links Yesterday and Tomorrow. And of course, Today is the yesterday of Tomorrow as well as the tomorrow of Yesterday. Haha, sounds like tongue twister.

I totally agree with your idea that we need to live in present while leave Yesterday as it was and hold on Tomorrow with hope. No matter what life will be, your life is yours after all. One can not avoid or get rid of what he/she has had already!

Sometimes we all know this kind of facts, or theories, or whatever, the only thing hurts is our powerlessness towards persistence. If you feel the challenge to continue, find a friend and let him/her push you to go ahead. Or even, change your environment and build up a new self.

Yes, I would really ask my friends for help.
I am not a computer. People need help from each other :)

Generally speaking I don't really enjoy watching such movie. But I think this movie tells us one thing: creating favorable condition will not have enough influence on making a better future.
It's just like butterfly effect in the weather system. I don't know exactly what tomorrow's temperature will be. Maybe it's 24.5, maybe it's 26.7. God damn it who knows. Why? because a little change in condition can grow much larger with time passes. Thus when Evan Treborn changes his past, he will get a different ending.
But chaos doesn't mean "totally unpredictable". I can't predict the exact temperature but I know It can't be above 60 nor bellow -100 no matter how you change the condition. If you want to make a difference, change the weather system instead. Evan Treborn changed the condition, but NOT his life philosophy, his way of life and what's most important---the SOCIETY he stayed in. As a result, all he had were bad endings.

Yes, maybe that's why the "god" just "removed" some minutes from his life, not some years.
But I don't think this movie is going to tell one that how to change his life. It just tells us don't be a dreamer of changing your past: just look forward, never look back.

I love these lines from
"You gotta put the past behind you before you can move on."
"Life is a box of chocolate, you never know what you're gonna get."
