I ever heard when I was very young that LOVE and DEATH was the endless talk among people. And now I do think so!
Since Love is so pop in current world and particularly in youth, I am not going to say more here but focus on Death. My theme is what we die for, so thus what we live for.....
I was educated to live for others, so that heroic complex sit in my heart for a long time. That was in the last century, which seems far from current time. However, I got to know after so called "Great Revolution", there was really someone wanted to be an emperor and behaved in the name of hero. But history proves that such persons are merely ants, busy with their own benefit while let so many good people as their victim.
When I finally got to know that one should die for some meaningful life, other than love with someone, I was not so young. Nevertheless, it was not late for me to struggle for that vigilant idea and then I put it into action. I left government post, stayed far away from those places where I could see bribe as well as corruption and began to do some solid jobs in a root level. Though I am no longer an official now, I am happy that I am living valuably!
I am not an example but I do believe my life is of signification and without any regret! I will be unperturbed to face my death.

Lisa, I am so glad that you know what you are after.
That's the most important thing.
I think we should stay alive with hope, endless hope!
That is, somehow, any style you wanna be, anything you wanna get, anyone you wanna know, and any promise or rules you have to keep.
I told my father, who is already 58 years old, that we both have a long way to go. We both get many missions to accomplish.
We can live only a life what we can get ....
What life we are living is exactly ours.....
So, no over-imagination, no regret, but always the hope and trust in God and ourselves!
I have kept this thinking since I got to know this rule. So, I am living in peace and I am happy everyday!
BTW, Aw,
I got your tip on how to edit.. I tried and got to know it needed to do this within 15 minutes after you posted that comment. I can see now it is counting the time limitation...... Right? lol
And so smart a web page! need to say "Great" to it! lol
yes, it's really great. haha
But actually, there are still some issues in Firefox. I am gonna fix it then.
Shawn's death prompted me to appreciate a meaningful life. I always remembered my first conversation with Aw, as he said how lucky he is to be alive and how this alerts him to work hard each day. Birth arouses enjoyment, but death pushes us to judge ourselves.
Nice girl and great comment!
One might get rid of love matters, but must face death. What would one say when he/she is at the end of current life? "I have no regret for my life..." or "I have no time to reverse...."
It is not a question we need to reply now. However, we must think and make the answer by all our life....
@Lisa,
This is a very heartfelt and sincere post! I imagine that in China, like everywhere in the world, there is often immediate rewards for people who live without integrity. But over the long-term, I choose to believe that living with integrity has its own rewards even though they may not be what most people may value, like money, status and prestige. Thank you for sharing your experience and your heart, and this post gives me great hope for China!
Elliott, Thank you for your fully understanding....
Differing from the young guys here, I am an old lady who experienced and suffered a lot in the last century. However, I never give up my kindness and integrity even if in the hardest time. We Chinese People are mostly tough and hardworking with full self respect! I know there is indeed some people nowadays intending to live without kindness and integrity for immediate benefits. I bet they will know it is a totally wrong way when they are aged...
Life itself is a good teacher after all!
"one should die for some meaningful life, other than love with someone"
Totally agree. But I still wanna have someone to hold me in his arms when I have to leave the world. I want him to be the one I love and also the one who loves me. I want him to be my Mr.Right: )
