New Adventure

Hi, this is Celia, coming from Wuhan. It's exciting for me to begin my adventure in this amazing "online family"—a paradise for English lovers. I am a postgraduate student and major in English Linguistics. I focus my academic interest on translation, stylistcis and cognitive linguistics. Hope I can make more friends here. 

Tomorrow is Lantern Festival, a time for the reunion of families and to play with lanterns. I remember when I was a little girl, I always played outside with a paper lantern in my hand. Candles were fixed inside the lanterns to light the road. Besides, plastic lanterns were also very popular among children, since they varied in shapes and sizes and most of them were multicolored. Now I think those experiences are a little bit funny and a little bit silly. I wonder how the nowadays children celebrate this festival. 

On the other hand, Lantern Festival marks the end of the Chinese Lunar New Year. So, everyone, make full use of this precious day and don't forget to eat Yuan Xiao :)

Hi, everybody! It's Gijo here. Home, in Jinan. Nice to meet you guys: )

I'm a 23-year-old girl, now studying Clinical Medicine in Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. It's my fifth year in college. Unlike other students, I'm in a seven-year teaching system. In the summer of 2010, I'll graduate and get my master's degree.

In my class, all the subjects are taught in English. The assignments, presentations, and examinations are all in English. That's a lot of pressure, and motivation as well.

A few days ago, Aw introduced Ifgogo to me. It's so nice to be invited as an author. I like the idea and atmosphere of this team-blogging website. We'll make it more interesting and attractive, I think.

Hi, This is Chrisding from SCUT, Canton

Hi, my name is Yu Zhiding. You can call me Chrisding as well. I'm a junior student from South China University of Technology, major in Information Engineering. This September I will go to Hong Kong to persue my postgraduate study at HKUST. My major research interests focus on digital image processing & its application, especially pattern recognition, which is approximately the same as Chengqian's.

Besides my research interests, I have many other interests during my extra curriculum time such as Anime, Movie, Military & CyberGame.  I'm warm-hearted and optimistic, always easy to make friends with others.

I remember in Cat Chen's self-introduction, he mentioned that he was the youngest. Well, I was born in 1987 so currently I will assume that I'm the youngest at the moment. Since most of you are Postgraduate or even older while I'm still an undergraduate student, I have a lot to learn from you, both knowledge and the attitude towards life. I really appreciate Ifgogo and your allowing me to be a member, for this provides a great chance for me to both share my ideas with you and learn from you. So what I want to say is: I'm really glad to be here.

Hello everybody, am I the youngest amongst the team? Anyway, I'm Cat Chen, or you can call me just Cat. Cat is for agility and flexibility, not for femininity. I'm from Guangzhou (Canton), and currently a student of Sun Yet-San University, with my major in Computer Science.

Here are some details on my technical background. I'm a Microsoft MVP. I mainly focus on web development technology and web2.0 trends. I'm an experienced ASP/ASP.NET developer, with knowledge about Web Standards. Currently, I'm studying front-end development with XHTML + CSS + JavaScript.
