The past vs the future

Sometimes, I think about this, and I am sure everyone thinks about this.

After I watched The Count of Monte Cristo and The Shawshank Redemption, I was shocked that if you have a beautiful dream and a very strong determination, the future can be so beautiful.

But after I watched The Butterfly Effect, it was rather sad. No matter how hard you try to fix, bad things still happen. The worse thing is, even the only solution is to sacrifice yourself.

The Butterfly Effect2 is really a very poor movie, but its tagline is somehow remarkable:  Can you change your past without destroying your future. - Yes, sometimes we are always thinking about changing our past, and somehow no one cares the future.

Sometimes, You may think, if you made that decision in another way, things would be very different by now. Sometimes, You may complain that if you had never joined this company, you might be much richer than you are. But it's that the truth?

The only truth, at least so far, is that you can never change the past. Even if you don't care about ruining your future, still you can never change your past. There is never a man like Evan Treborn.

But you can also change one kind of "past", that is "now". "Now" is not the past, but it's going to be the past. Actually, as for The Shawshank Redemption, The Butterfly Effect, no matter which one, is telling us to live in the present.

Never care the past and never worry about the future. Everything we get is the present. The present will be the past, and it will also be the future :)
